Ximenes Barnechea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio de Lima in the 57th minute of play forced Alianza Trujillo's goalkeeper Ximenes Barnechea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Leme kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Red John S.K booed when Alianza Trujillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Ceraso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alianza Trujillo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
