The supporters of Green Zombies booed when Noroeste Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Augusto Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lajos Tábori in the 7th minute of play. Noroeste Paulista's Cláudio Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zoltán Csonka in the 16th minute of play. Imre Tandori was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Imre Tandori during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Imre Tandori hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovânio Quirino got free with Lajos Vásárhelyi in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ede Szalontai during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ede Szalontai hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 30th match minute, Green Zombies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ervin Fenyves to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Green Zombies's goalkeeper Lajos Vásárhelyi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Barnabás Kutas struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Cláudio Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Zombies. In the 44th minute of the match Imre Tandori sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cláudio Taffarel skillfully saved the ball. In the 48th minute, Dániel Tábori made a precise shot to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. Noroeste Paulista's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovânio Quirino to make the kick off. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Green Zombies's Dániel Tábori. But to his dismay, Dániel Tábori quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 59th minute, Geovânio Quirino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Noroeste Paulista fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Lajos Vásárhelyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Azevedo in the 72nd minute of play. Lajos Vásárhelyi came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Noroeste Paulista's João Augusto Azevedo. But to his dismay, João Augusto Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Azevedo in the 79th minute of play forced Green Zombies's goalkeeper Lajos Vásárhelyi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Raimundo Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lajos Vásárhelyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Péter Nyitrai fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Green Zombies's protests and gave Péter Nyitrai a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Péter Nyitrai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Noroeste Paulista booed when Green Zombies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Péter Nyitrai didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th match minute, Noroeste Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Augusto Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Zoltán Csonka took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Cláudio Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. In the 93rd minute of the match João Augusto Azevedo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lajos Vásárhelyi skillfully saved the ball. Green Zombies's Lajos Vásárhelyi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Vander in the 95th minute of play. Lajos Vásárhelyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin Vander in the 97th minute of play. The Green Zombies players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
