Fermin Sein's late challenge caught a Protegéerna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fermin Sein helped the player get up and apologised. Fermin Sein hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game, Roy Bennet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mariano Thomas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 48th minute, Fermin Sein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roy Bennet to strike the kick off in the second half. Angel Aballe scored 1-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Georg Vallin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, The Cavern Club's Fermin Sein got a free kick in the 57th minute. Roy Bennets short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Mariano Thomas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Protegéerna's Börge Arenberg was substituted for Alexander Lundström. Fermin Sein made in the 68th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Martín Palermo however managed to control. Fermin Sein was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to The Cavern Club getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fermin Sein hit a great ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Cavern Club's goalkeeper Mariano Thomas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Aballe in the 81st minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Georg Vallin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georg Vallin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Aballe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Georg Vallin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Aballe in the 85th minute of play. After 89 minutes of play, Protegéerna's Roy Bennet made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Thomas was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Aballe in the 94th minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Georg Vallin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georg Vallin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angel Aballe in the 97th minute of the match. Although The Cavern Club had been in control for most of the match, Protegéerna still came away with the win.
