The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gijs Schaap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervasio Galo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijs Schaap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guaberto Henric in the 12th minute of play. Unidad de Matanza's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elvio Urtungo in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes Unidad de Matanza got a freekick which was hit by Astor Resto. 17 minutes into the game, Elvio Urtungo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Unidad de Matanza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Chelsea the free kick. The supporters of Real Chelsea booed when Unidad de Matanza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Urtungo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conan Wiseman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Octavio Raymond. Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 21 played minutes Unidad de Matanza got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Henric. Octavio Raymond made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huey Newton in the 22nd minute of play. Gijs Schaap was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Reynaldo Rios capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reynaldo Rios really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Gijs Schaap made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Reynaldo Rios sent off a good shot on target. Gijs Schaap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Rios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th match minute, Real Chelsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Howard Woodhall to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Real Chelsea getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Howard Woodhall hit a great ball. Unidad de Matanza's Reynaldo Rios got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Real Chelsea's Grant Ainsworth got a free kick in the 39th minute. Reynaldo Rios had several of the Real Chelsea's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 41 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Gijs Schaap as he didn't even see the shot coming. 46 minutes into the game, Real Chelsea's Rick Hochinskiy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Octavio Raymond made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Huey Newton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Octavio Raymond was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Rick Hochinskiy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rick Hochinskiy really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Gijs Schaap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervasio Galo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Real Chelsea's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elvio Urtungo was slow to take the kick. During this time Unidad de Matanza's players had a chance to rest. Reynaldo Rios kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Unidad de Matanza's Joaquin Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Rios in the 72nd minute of play forced Real Chelsea's goalkeeper Gijs Schaap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Real Chelsea getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Conan Wiseman hit a great ball. In the 75th minute Gervasio Galo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gijs Schaap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, Joaquin Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huey Newton in the 78th minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Octavio Raymond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijs Schaap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Rios, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Gijs Schaap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervasio Galo in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91stth minute of the game Huey Newton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Unidad de Matanza's Octavio Raymond was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rick Hochinskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Octavio Raymond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Unidad de Matanza's Octavio Raymond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huey Newton in the 96th minute of play.
