In the 6th minute, Yan Koban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deivid Rosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Borges in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Gugu Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Carneiro. Limoeiro-PE FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a little luck, Limoeiro-PE FC's Ricardo Carneiro got control of the ball when Armando Gerber tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Britto in the 17th minute. After having played for 26 minutes, Armando Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cactos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Gerber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute, Chiquinho Curado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Britto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Carneiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Ricardo Carneiro came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Cactos's Ronaldão Trevisan. But to his dismay, Ronaldão Trevisan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Armando Gerber succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 42nd playminute. Armando Gerber had several of the Limoeiro-PE FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 46 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Ricardo Carneiro as he didn't even see the shot coming. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cacá Arósio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Walmyr Loureiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Ricardo Carneiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ricardo Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Britto in the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Borges in the 60th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Deivid Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cheito Molek kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão Trevisan in the 68th minute of play forced Limoeiro-PE FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Armando Gerber ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Carneiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Limoeiro-PE FC made a substitution. Jorge Secco replaced Cafu Nóbrega. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cheito Molek during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Limoeiro-PE FC got a freekick which was hit by Cheito Molek. Limoeiro-PE FC's Ricardo Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Domingues in the 93rd minute of play. Cactos were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Limoeiro-PE FC for a fine match.
