Spectators: 7658 (Terracing: 5745, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 152) Templars FC's Oliver Friggieri started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Borg Xuereb in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armen Werthein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Janko Kaplan kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. G.R.'s Armen Werthein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Friggieri in the 5th minute of play. Samuel Demicoli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gineton Smoller, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Hiram Malik kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Oliver Friggieri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Templars FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliver Friggieri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armen Werthein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 16 minutes, Oliver Friggieri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Templars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Friggieri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mark Borg Xuereb charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Borg Xuereb the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of G.R. booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Borg Xuereb didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liam Rolè kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Samuel Demicoli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janko Kaplan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to G.R. getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Gineton Smoller hit a great ball. Templars FC's Sean Friggieri couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for G.R.. After a rather tough play, G.R.'s Gineton Smoller got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Gineton Smoller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Samuel Demicoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mark Borg Xuereb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Noel Trapani. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

G.R.'s Zahavi Drucker was substituted for Ben-Ami Amran. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Janko Kaplan to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, G.R.'s goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Friggieri came free, but Armen Werthein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armen Werthein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mark Borg Xuereb's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute of the match Sean Friggieri shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armen Werthein showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zahavi Drucker got free with Samuel Demicoli in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armen Werthein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Friggieri in the 63rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Aquilina in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armen Werthein saved G.R. from getting behind. Mark Borg Xuereb struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Armen Werthein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Templars FC. Mark Montebello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armen Werthein having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zahavi Drucker got free with Samuel Demicoli in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubi Resnikovich during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes G.R. got a freekick which was hit by Rubi Resnikovich. With an all-out effort, G.R.'s Samuel Demicoli threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Janko Kaplan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zahavi Drucker made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 86thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Samuel Demicoli would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Samuel Demicoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janko Kaplan in the 88th minute of play. In the 91stth minute of the game Mark Montebello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but G.R.'s Armen Werthein was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
