The referee ignored SAN LORENZO FC's protests and gave Baldomiro Otsoa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, one of SAN LORENZO FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SAN LORENZO FC. Fabian Schär managed to, on his own, get straight through SAN LORENZO FC's defense and in the 22nd minute placed the ball to the left of Natalio Mitxaut. 2-0. If Aristides Castel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28thth minute of the game Aristides Castel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espen Steelers's Akira Schmid was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Akira Schmid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristides Castel in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Espen Steelers booed when SAN LORENZO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Rodas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nereo Rodas hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Aristides Castel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Akira Schmid was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freeman Mächler was the one to do the kick off. Aristides Castel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akira Schmid having to interfere. A collision led to SAN LORENZO FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Lisandro Mon hit a great ball. Espen Steelers's Hubert Gartenmann was substituted for Raphael Aregger. In the 82nd minute Casimiro Jenaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akira Schmid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
