Pragmáticos 1903's Raimundo Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Eriz in the 7th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Vito Furlan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this René Higuita quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 13th minute, Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pragmáticos 1903 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. René Higuita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but René Higuita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After 22 minutes Kaplan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Giovani Sanches who took care of the corner kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucio Soin to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kaplan's goalkeeper René Higuita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Pragmáticos 1903's Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that René Higuita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Zikoranachukwudimma Ruchthanatuchaiiakul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kaplan's Angel Calisto got a free kick in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of René Higuita. Kaplan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 74 minutes into the match, Kaplan's goal looked a bit too open when Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin came free, but René Higuita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Zonta to maneuver through the defense. René Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin in the 82nd minute of the match. René Higuita came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Pragmáticos 1903's Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin. But to his dismay, Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. René Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lefter-Can-Gökdeniz Von Euler-Chelpin, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Zikoranachukwudimma Ruchthanatuchaiiakul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If João Adolfo Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pragmáticos 1903 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kaplan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
