Guy Becerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guillermo Barros Schelloto kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Lengua de Lobo's Agustin Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Lengua de Lobo from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute Martin-Daniel Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustin Rossi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roy Huston showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. Martin-Daniel Palermo charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin-Daniel Palermo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Martin-Daniel Palermo kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Ferdinand Bauers short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Agustin Rossi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Agustin Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Huston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustin Rossi came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Independiente's Roy Huston. But to his dismay, Roy Huston quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Guy Becerras short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Agustin Rossi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 34 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Martin-Daniel Palermo came free, but Miguel Ángel Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Barros Schelloto during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 35 played minutes Lengua de Lobo got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Barros Schelloto. Agustin Rossi made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Guy Becerra sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Lengua de Lobo booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrad Carrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lengua de Lobo's Aquiles Meo got a free kick in the 41st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Martin-Daniel Palermo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lengua de Lobo's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin-Daniel Palermo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Ángel Santoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Feliberto Manuelo to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Lengua de Lobo got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Barros Schelloto. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Ferdinand Bauer got a free kick in the 54th minute. Agustin Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roy Huston in the 55th minute of the match. After 56 played minutes Lengua de Lobo got a freekick which was hit by Igor Xacintu. Miguel Ángel Santoro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Feliberto Manuelo in the 61st minute. In the 69th minute Ferdinand Bauer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Rossi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Feliberto Manuelo might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Ángel Santoro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliberto Manuelo ran back to his position shaking his head. Lengua de Lobo's Agustin Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrad Carrington in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Todd Ogden hit a great ball. After having played for 86 minutes, Gregg Hannah managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregg Hannah was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the game, Ferdinand Bauer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Agustin Rossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. C. A. Independiente walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
