Spectators: 7707 (Terracing: 5782, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gerasimos Patsionidis started the match with the kick off. After having played for 7 minutes, Israel Goyo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Islas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Israel Goyo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th match minute, RO Army V55 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anastasios Ntaltos to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Confesor got free with Helmuth Duckadam in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Israel Goyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Pavlos Pantelakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Helmuth Duckadam stood somewhat misplaced when Oscar Confesor came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 24 minute. After 30 minutes RO Army V55's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Israel Goyo who took care of the corner kick. Islas FC's Israel Goyo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Helmuth Duckadam in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Wincent Knopek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasios Ntaltos in the 32nd minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match Daniel Prodan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wincent Knopek showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Aristides Ubendu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 minutes, Anibal Papo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Islas FC and the RO Army V55 players grew even worse after the yellow card.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Confesor to make the kick off. Helmuth Duckadam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Confesor in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Pavlos Pantelakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in RO Army V55's zone, Oscar Confesor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Helmuth Duckadam came out of the goal and Oscar Confesor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Helmuth Duckadam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Goyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Helmuth Duckadam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Confesor in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, RO Army V55's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Confesor came free, but Helmuth Duckadam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Israel Goyo in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Helmuth Duckadam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Oscar Confesor fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Islas FC's protests and gave Oscar Confesor a yellow card for diving instead. Oscar Confesor hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, RO Army V55's Gerasimos Patsionidis got a free kick in the 80th minute. Manos Komaitis charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manos Komaitis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to RO Army V55 getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Manos Komaitis hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute of the match Israel Goyo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Helmuth Duckadam showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Helmuth Duckadam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Confesor in the 84th minute of play. Islas FC were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after RO Army V55's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Israel Goyo took the corner. The corner ended in Israel Goyo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but RO Army V55's Helmuth Duckadam did a great save. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Aristides Ubendu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Islas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aristides Ubendu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helmuth Duckadam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Islas FC's Anibal Papo got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Anibal Papo off the ground. A collision led to Islas FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Anibal Papo hit a great ball. RO Army V55's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
