He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kaplan reached it. Kaplan's René Higuita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Iruinea in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of Tama booed when Kaplan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Calisto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Elvio Benitez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but René Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucio Soin to make the kick off. If Jesus Iruinea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roman Acuña charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Acuña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tama's Roman Acuña got a free kick in the 55th minute.
