After 3 minutes, Franco Mussoll made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. VILLARREAL UNITED's Pedro Benítez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Juan-Carlos Alamon hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Zuriko Lagala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tsubasa Ozora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Pedro Benítez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in VILLARREAL UNITED's zone, Franco Mussoll stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Benítez came out of the goal and Franco Mussoll tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miguel Celama fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Benítez having to interfere. Pedro Benítez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Mussoll, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Franco Mussoll who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VILLARREAL UNITED's Pedro Benítez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Franco Mussoll put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Benítez. When Franco Mussoll came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Inter de Guayaquil FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Mussoll couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamin Gimeno during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th match minute, VILLARREAL UNITED was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berto Torrente to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isidoro Mangas was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Celama. In the 58th minute, Zadornin Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 59th minute of the match Benjamin Gimeno completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Benjamin Gimeno a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, VILLARREAL UNITED's Benjamin Gimeno got a free kick in the 60th minute. Pedro Benítez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franco Mussoll in the 65th minute. Zuriko Lagala came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by VILLARREAL UNITED's Eusebio Cao. But to his dismay, Eusebio Cao quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tsubasa Ozora in the 81st minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Zuriko Lagala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zuriko Lagala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tsubasa Ozora in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Franco Mussoll dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. 91 minutes into the match, VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Pedro Benítez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franco Mussoll. Franco Mussoll could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Pedro Benítez made a huge save. The VILLARREAL UNITED fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Inter de Guayaquil FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
