The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Talleres's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Quirze came free, but Albino Nofre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albino Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celedonio Erdiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. With his leg Jorge Nesto managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Talleres's Ariel Burko fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Albino Nofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Salamon in the 13th minute of play. Adolfo Diaz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 15th minute. Talleres's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 18 minutes into the match, Salvador Quirze notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Talleres's Albino Nofre. Albino Nofre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Adolfo Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Salamon in the 24th minute of play forced Talleres's goalkeeper Albino Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Adolfo Diaz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jorge Nesto. Adolfo Diaz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The supporters of Talleres booed when Alzaga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Quirze didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Fernando Laurgain from long distance, 36 minutes into the match, got Jorge Nesto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Alzaga FC's Jorge Nesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Diaz in the 37th minute of play. Jorge Nesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ariel Burko in the 40th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Talleres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Laurgain to maneuver through the defense.

In the 53rd minute, Salvador Quirze made a precise shot to the right of Albino Nofre. Talleres's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Salamon in the 56th minute of play forced Talleres's goalkeeper Albino Nofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolfo Diaz charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Diaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th minute, Adolfo Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celedonio Erdiano in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albino Nofre saved Talleres from getting behind. After 61 minutes of play, Talleres's Adolfo Diaz made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge Nesto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alzaga FC's Natalio Elivareo was substituted for Salvador Quirze. Alzaga FC made a substitution. Humberto Manilan replaced Pedro Salamon. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Francisco Odilon hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Alzaga FC's Natalio Elivareo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Rodrigo Villagra hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 85th match minute, Alzaga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Elivareo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ariel Burko in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Nesto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Manilan got free with Albino Nofre in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Albino Nofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Lia, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
