Juventudes Libertárias's Carlos Alberto Torres was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vaklin Kortov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 16th minute, Andriy Shevchenko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Juventudes Libertárias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 96 played minutes Juventudes Libertárias got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Ramos. Juventudes Libertárias's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
