Spectators: 7838 (Terracing: 5880, Seating: 1802, VIP seats: 156) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sever Vintilescu kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute, Junior Maldini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Junior Maldini got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for A.S. Udinese. 9 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when János Oltean came free, but Fedele Schiacciacasse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emiliano Scannella during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Udinese and the Academia Rio players grew even worse after the yellow card. Udinese's Olof Kjellkvist got a free kick in the 19th minute. Fedele Schiacciacasse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from János Oltean in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Junior Maldini in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nechifor Epure prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nechifor Epure made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Cagnetta in the 27th minute of play. Filippo Di Cesare's late challenge caught a Academia Rio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filippo Di Cesare helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes A.S. Udinese got a freekick which was hit by Filippo Di Cesare. A.S. Udinese's Fedele Schiacciacasse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iurie Mutu in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when János Oltean came free, but Fedele Schiacciacasse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Tiberiu Vornicescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Junior Maldini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Epure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.S. Udinese's Fedele Schiacciacasse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by János Oltean in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Udinese's Roby Donadoni was substituted for Maurito Tassotti. A.S. Udinese's Aurelio Di Fonzo was substituted for Olof Kjellkvist. The audience thought a goal was coming when János Oltean got free with Fedele Schiacciacasse in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A.S. Udinese's Ermanno Moscatelli got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emiliano Scannella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nechifor Epure read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Ermanno Moscatelli kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Rio's zone, Ermanno Moscatelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nechifor Epure came out of the goal and Ermanno Moscatelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 84 played minutes A.S. Udinese got a freekick which was hit by Filippo Di Cesare. Filippo Di Cesare recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nechifor Epure showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermanno Moscatelli in the 91st minute of the match. János Oltean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Fedele Schiacciacasse made a huge save. Filippo Di Cesare got his second yellow card in the match during the 97th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to A.S. Udinese getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Filippo Di Cesare hit a great ball. The Academia Rio players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented A.S. Udinese from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
