The referee ignored Kjønstad BF's protests and gave Jonathan Sæter a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mestre GG booed when Kjønstad BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Sæter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Benjamim Medeiros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Haug skillfully saved the ball. After 23 minutes of play, Mestre GG's Benjamim Medeiros made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chiquinho Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gildo Sá in the 40th minute of play forced Kjønstad BF's goalkeeper Christian Haug to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Benjamim Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mestre GG fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 46th minute Dé Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Haug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
