Cédric Payen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Carver Watman made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Pinal in the 7th minute of play forced Minerul Baita -MM-'s goalkeeper Sergiu Cobâlcescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Pinal might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergiu Cobâlcescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Pinal ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 10th minute, Antonio Pinal made a precise shot to the right of Sergiu Cobâlcescu. Minerul Baita -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Berny Foley hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Sergiu Cobâlcescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Pinal in the 21st minute of play. Sergiu Cobâlcescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Pinal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Codruț Podgoreanu came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Minerul Baita -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Codruț Podgoreanu couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, Cédric Payen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carver Watman was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Carver Watman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cédric Payen in the 35th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Carver Watman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Minerul Baita -MM- booed when Harry Cool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Benton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carver Watman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cédric Payen went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Antonio Pinal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergiu Cobâlcescu having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antonio Pinal to strike the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Dudu Georgescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carver Watman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Cédric Payen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Carver Watman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Codruț Podgoreanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Carver Watman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Lupeanu during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Victor Lupeanu hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Antonio Pinal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sergiu Cobâlcescu was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Antonio Pinal might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergiu Cobâlcescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With a little luck, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Sergiu Cobâlcescu got control of the ball when Antonio Pinal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carver Watman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Hurmuzache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Minerul Baita -MM- were the better team. Minerul Baita -MM-'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
