Spectators: 7961 (Terracing: 5972, Seating: 1831, VIP seats: 158) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Florentin Gougeon took the kick off in the first half of the match. Milton Umaña could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Andoni Zubizarreta made a huge save. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Florentin Gougeon sped through GuateFortín's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Navarro Montoya. 9 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Florentin Gougeon came free, but Carlos Navarro Montoya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Valencia C.F. getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jesús Vázquez hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor Valenzuela got free with Andoni Zubizarreta in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Valencia C.F.'s goalie and right to Victor Valenzuela. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Valencia C.F.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Andoni Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milton Umaña, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Florentin Gougeon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valencia C.F.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Florentin Gougeon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Navarro Montoya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Umaña in the 24th minute of play forced Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Victor Valenzuela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andoni Zubizarreta. Valencia C.F.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victor Valenzuela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Milton Umaña's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andoni Zubizarreta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Milton Umaña in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andoni Zubizarreta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute, Valencia C.F.'s Ken Singleton seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ken Singleton the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Valencia C.F. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ken Singleton had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Ken Singleton got a free kick in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Santamaria in the 36th minute of play forced Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andoni Zubizarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Alvarado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Alvarado might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andoni Zubizarreta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Alvarado ran back to his position shaking his head. Milton Umaña could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Andoni Zubizarreta made a huge save. GuateFortín's Abraham Santamaria shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Andoni Zubizarreta but with some difficulty.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patricio Alvarado was the one to do the kick off. Andoni Zubizarreta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Umaña in the 52nd minute of play. Julio Asad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Andoni Zubizarreta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Julio Asad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andoni Zubizarreta was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Diego López sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. GuateFortín's Mateo Terciero was substituted for Ezequiel Peruanton. If Diego López had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute Mateo Terciero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andoni Zubizarreta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valencia C.F.'s Andoni Zubizarreta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Alvarado in the 69th minute of play. Andoni Zubizarreta came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Félix Moreno. But to his dismay, Félix Moreno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateo Terciero during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mateo Terciero kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Milton Umaña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andoni Zubizarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milton Umaña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valencia C.F.'s Andoni Zubizarreta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Terciero in the 87th minute of play. Andoni Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milton Umaña in the 90th minute of the match. Andoni Zubizarreta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Félix Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Félix Moreno came free, but Andoni Zubizarreta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Félix Moreno took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andoni Zubizarreta. Andoni Zubizarreta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. GuateFortín's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
