After a defensive mix-up in Herblay's zone, Edgard Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabri Letailleur came out of the goal and Edgard Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guillaume Soudan scored 1-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mané Quirino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Cabral got free with Sabri Letailleur in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Edgard Cabral reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sabri Letailleur. The goal made the score 2-3. In a very dangerous position, a player in Herblay fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guillaume Soudan to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillaume Soudan. Goiás Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herblay the free kick. Eliézer Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Mané Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Batista Fuertehijar in the 67th minute of play. Sabri Letailleur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Herblay's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Cabral came free, but Sabri Letailleur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osmar de Moraes's late challenge caught a Herblay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osmar de Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Osmar de Moraes. Mané Quirino was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Batista Fuertehijar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Batista Fuertehijar really showed his touch with that goal: 3-4. Mané Quirino had great luck who in the 86thth minute grab hold of the ball when Batista Fuertehijar from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Batista Fuertehijar in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mané Quirino saved Goiás Esporte Clube from getting behind. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Herblay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
