In the 23rd minute of the match, Tadeo Eli tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armando Sabino saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 24 minutes into the game, Esteban Acuña threw the ball into play from the sideline. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonas Gregory to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Deportivo Diamante U18 defense, Ronaldo Joinvilense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregorio Fagildo. The Deportivo Diamante U18 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregorio Fagildo should have stopped the shot. Armando Sabino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Lico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Lico in the 83rd minute of play forced Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Armando Sabino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Montenegro. If Jonas Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeferson Nóbrega charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeferson Nóbrega the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 95 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Nóbrega. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
