Hermengildo Aresti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Campidelis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Deportivo Pergamino got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Santos. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Pergamino's zone, Eriberto Siqueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermengildo Aresti came out of the goal and Eriberto Siqueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute Eriberto Siqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermengildo Aresti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Siqueira in the 32nd minute of play forced Deportivo Pergamino's goalkeeper Hermengildo Aresti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
