The supporters of General Velásquez booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard van den Eede didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Shi Fan Rong fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored General Velásquez's protests and gave Shi Fan Rong a yellow card for diving instead. General Velásquez's Rolf Holmgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Izaak Achterberg in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, The Underdogs's Honorato Guter got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, General Velásquez's Manuelo Oñez y Loyola got a free kick in the 26th minute. The referee ignored General Velásquez's protests and gave Luiz Fernando Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. General Velásquez fully deserved thier win.
