The audience thought a goal was coming when Ger de Vries got free with Edelmiro Eriz in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Mei Yang Peng managed to get in a good position for a shot. FCF north's supporters rose to their feet, but Mei Yang Peng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edelmiro Eriz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cable a Tierra's zone, Ger de Vries stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edelmiro Eriz came out of the goal and Ger de Vries tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusebio Gorosti in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baltasar Gaitan in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto de Almeida saved FCF north from getting behind. Ger de Vries sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Cable a Tierra getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Tomas Huly hit a great ball. Eusebio Gorosti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Fausto de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 44 minutes, Eleuterio Ekain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cable a Tierra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eleuterio Ekain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Mei Yang Peng fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCF north's protests and gave Mei Yang Peng a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Mei Yang Peng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 played minutes Cable a Tierra got a freekick which was hit by Eusebio Gorosti. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baltasar Gaitan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, FCF north's goalkeeper Fausto de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltasar Gaitan. Eleuterio Ekain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Fausto de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
