Spectators: 7478 (Terracing: 5610, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Şeray Çağlayan started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Jagiellonia Denver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luc Castle to maneuver through the defense. Nejat Küdüs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Thacker, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Eugène Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 minutes, Şeray Çağlayan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenerbahçe and the Jagiellonia Denver players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 13 played minutes Fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Şeray Çağlayan. Nejat Küdüs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Pena in the 14th minute of the match. Jagiellonia Denver's Eugène Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Reynaldo Thacker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nejat Küdüs was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Fenerbahçe defense, Eugène Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nejat Küdüs. The Fenerbahçe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nejat Küdüs should have stopped the shot. When Gilbert Pena came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Jagiellonia Denver fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Pena couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Thacker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nejat Küdüs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Gilbert Pena struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Nejat Küdüs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jagiellonia Denver. When Necdet Hekimhanlı fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe's protests and gave Necdet Hekimhanlı a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 minutes of play, Jagiellonia Denver's Gilbert Pena made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nejat Küdüs was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Reynaldo Thacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Jagiellonia Denver were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reynaldo Thacker to strike the kick off in the second half. Nejat Küdüs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Thacker in the 60th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Nejat Küdüs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert Pena. Felicien Schwartz hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 70th match minute, Jagiellonia Denver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugène Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. If Reynaldo Thacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugène Schmidt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Nejat Küdüs made a huge save. After 82 played minutes Fenerbahçe got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Korcan Deryace. Nejat Küdüs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Thacker in the 85th minute of play. Gilbert Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Nejat Küdüs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Thacker dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nejat Küdüs, 0-4. Jagiellonia Denver's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
