Romeo Ungur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henny Jans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Pascall Mik kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nicu Arghirescu. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 21st minute of the match Sebastian Matei shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henny Jans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horea Aplugăriței in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henny Jans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute, Gerrit Baker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 30 minutes, Augustin Horea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Sportiv Medgidia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustin Horea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sjors Schulte to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Club Sportiv Medgidia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augustin Horea to maneuver through the defense. Henny Jans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Horea in the 64th minute of the match. When Horea Aplugăriței came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Club Sportiv Medgidia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horea Aplugăriței couldn't finish the play. In the 67thth minute of the game Horea Aplugăriței who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Verwachting's Henny Jans was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 68th match minute, Club Sportiv Medgidia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergiu Timaru to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Sjors Schulte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicu Arghirescu was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horea Aplugăriței got free with Henny Jans in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
