C.A Gryffindor's Antônio Rezende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save C.A Gryffindor from getting a goal against them. After 21 minutes of play, C.A Gryffindor's Carlos Eduardo Gonçalves made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cacá Mattos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cacá Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Gonçalves in the 28th minute of the match. Benjamim Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Antônio Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to C.A Gryffindor getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Celso Montenegro hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Telmo Barreto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antônio Rezende showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 40th minute, Zerozinho Youth's Hamílton Lima dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benjamim Cearense to make the kick off. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zerozinho Youth reached it. Antônio Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Benjamim Cearense notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of C.A Gryffindor's Antônio Rezende. Antônio Rezende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zerozinho Youth's Afonsinho Mangueira was substituted for Percival Mendes. If Benjamim Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
