Quetzal Flyers Hammers's Torbjörn Östlund got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Åke Asserlindh in the 4th minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Thomas Gascon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 played minutes R.C. Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Gustave Icard. Quetzal Flyers Hammers's Oskar Vestberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Quetzal Flyers Hammers from getting a goal against them. Oskar Vestberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Blaise Castera showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. Gustave Icard hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Torbjörn Östlund notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of R.C. Marseille's Thomas Gascon. Thomas Gascon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marseille's Cyril Bec shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Oskar Vestberg but with some difficulty. In the 35th minute Torbjörn Östlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Gascon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustave Icard's late challenge caught a Quetzal Flyers Hammers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustave Icard helped the player get up and apologised. Gustave Icard kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Torbjörn Östlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quetzal Flyers Hammers's supporters rose to their feet, but Torbjörn Östlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Gascon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Åke Asserlindh struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Thomas Gascon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quetzal Flyers Hammers. Thomas Gascon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjörn Östlund in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to R.C. Marseille getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Thomas Gascon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Quetzal Flyers Hammers's Krister Torstensson got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 79th minute, Torbjörn Östlund reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thomas Gascon. The goal made the score 1-4. Torbjörn Östlund took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Gascon. Thomas Gascon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. When Gösta Berglund fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quetzal Flyers Hammers's protests and gave Gösta Berglund a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Quetzal Flyers Hammers getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. After 95 played minutes, Quetzal Flyers Hammers's Krister Torstensson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thomas Gascon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quetzal Flyers Hammers reached it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Quetzal Flyers Hammers eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
