Lucrețiu Manolache was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Artur Rosiewicz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. In the 8th minute Nicu Isăilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Winograd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cyprian Karpinski charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cyprian Karpinski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Politehnica Timisoara booed when Onyx was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyprian Karpinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Winograd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicu Isăilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 1-1 became the score in the 19th minute when Nicu Isăilă elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache got control of the ball when Boruc Michalski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Boruc Michalskis short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Lucrețiu Manolache to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 36 minutes into the match, Onyx's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Bostan came free, but Sebastian Winograd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boruc Michalski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lucrețiu Manolache came out and tried to block the shot, but Boruc Michalski slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 42nd minute. Lucrețiu Manolache showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Rosiewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The Onyx fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. A collision led to Onyx getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Witalis Dobrzechowski hit a great ball. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nicu Isăilă got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nicu Isăilă managed to work through Onyx's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Nicu Isăilă dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Cyprian Karpinski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Onyx booed when FC Politehnica Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Lungu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Onyx's Artur Rosiewicz made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucrețiu Manolache was left in no man's land by his defense there! 77 minutes into the game, Boruc Michalski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Onyx's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Rosiewicz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
