The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Oldham Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Erik Fransson. In the 5th minute, Henrik Söderberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klei Kuli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Bäcklin in the 6th minute of the match. If Per-Erik Rydberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Bäcklin took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Klei Kuli. Klei Kuli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Oscar Bäcklin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Klei Kuli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Autochthonous's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Erik Fransson came free, but Klei Kuli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Kola charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julian Kola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Oldham Athletic booed when Autochthonous was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Kola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Karl-Erik Fransson made a precise shot to the right of Klei Kuli. Autochthonous's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Julian Kola hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. A collision led to Autochthonous getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Zymbyl Dumbo hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute Oscar Bäcklin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klei Kuli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Paolo Hoxhallari was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Autochthonous's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oldham Athletic the free kick. After a rather tough play, Autochthonous's Paolo Hoxhallari got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Klei Kuli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Bäcklin in the 43rd minute of play. Klei Kuli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Bäcklin, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Paulin Roçi's late challenge caught a Oldham Athletic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulin Roçi helped the player get up and apologised. Paulin Roçi kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faruk Kaçi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Folke Smed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faruk Kaçi in the 54th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Faruk Kaçi in the 55th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 58 minutes into the match, Autochthonous's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Erik Rydberg came free, but Klei Kuli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ergen Zheku hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Karl-Erik Fransson took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Klei Kuli to make any attempt to save it. Aranit Jonuzi hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Karl-Erik Fransson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Klei Kuli. Autochthonous's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Erik Fransson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Oscar Bäcklin put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Klei Kuli. Karl-Axel Bure's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Klei Kuli skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Julian Kola kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Ian Beckström was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 86 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, one of Oldham Athletic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Oldham Athletic. The referee gave Autochthonous a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Paulin Roçi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Oldham Athletic's Folke Smed. 1-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faruk Kaçi in the 93rd minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Folke Smed to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klei Kuli was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Karl-Axel Bure capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Karl-Axel Bure really showed his touch with that goal: 1-8. Oldham Athletic's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
