The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 24 minutes into the game, one of Savon Palloseura:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 26 minutes, Saudade's Mehmet Bedri Rüştü got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Niilo Myötänen. After a rather tough play, Saudade's Mehmet Bedri Rüştü got a free kick in the 36th minute. A collision led to Saudade getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Sungur Ökten hit a great ball. Vacid Oksu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kosti Kukkonen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Saudade's zone, Jan Kuokkanen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vacid Oksu came out of the goal and Jan Kuokkanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Tauno Kivimäki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Savon Palloseura's supporters rose to their feet, but Tauno Kivimäki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vacid Oksu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vacid Oksu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viljami Rajamäki in the 46th minute of the match. The Saudade players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Savon Palloseura were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Şerafettin Ilgın to make the kick off. Vacid Oksu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tauno Kivimäki in the 51st minute.
