Edmílson Matos had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Luke Cooke's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Agostinho Castro could shoot a difficult shot in the 10th minute, which Ollie Clark however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Callum Windsor in the 16th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Edmílson Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to AFC - Curitiba getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Régis Lima hit a great ball. If Hudson Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Agostinho Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reggie Shephard hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Régis Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rick Postolan's late challenge caught a AFC - Curitiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rick Postolan helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 minutes, Hudson Pinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC - Curitiba and the TibaDons players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 32 played minutes AFC - Curitiba got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Pinho. Ollie Clark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Ollie Clark took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Félix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hudson Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ollie Clark having to interfere. Callum Windsor kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hudson Pinho to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Eric Butt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TibaDons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC - Curitiba the free kick. Hudson Pinho hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Régis Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agostinho Castro couldn't finish the play. After having played for 74 minutes, Conrado Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC - Curitiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrado Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, AFC - Curitiba's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Postolan came free, but Edmílson Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute Stu Blewett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Régis Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AFC - Curitiba's Edmílson Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grant Cornish in the 89th minute of play. AFC - Curitiba's Hudson Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to TibaDons getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Eric Butt hit a great ball. TibaDons's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
