Luiz Fernando Figueiredo came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Didier Droga. But to his dismay, Didier Droga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 8th minute Hernan Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Dionisio Olivar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matías de Moraes. 13 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Eustacio Gaskon came free, but Luiz Fernando Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Hernan Domingues notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Luiz Fernando Figueiredo. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Roque Aritza fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors's protests and gave Roque Aritza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 24th minute, Dedê Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matías de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to S.C. Corinthians Paulista getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Cássio Simões hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Hernan Domingues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Fernando Figueiredo. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hernan Domingues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Mariano Chago kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Didier Droga to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Bertassi in the 51st minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Dionisio Olivar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boca Juniors's Dionisio Olivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Bertassi in the 54th minute of play. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Erasmo Gotzon sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Carlos Quinito got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 74 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Quinito. Giuseppe Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Dalmo Bertassi sped through Boca Juniors's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dionisio Olivar. In the 79th match minute, S.C. Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Tasso to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Didier Droga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Fernando Figueiredo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Matías de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 86th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Quinito to maneuver through the defense. Boca Juniors's Dionisio Olivar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Bertassi in the 90th minute of play. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Eustacio Gaskon sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Fernando Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didier Droga in the 92nd minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, Matías de Moraes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca Juniors the free kick. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when S.C. Corinthians Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boca Juniors's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
