With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bazil Aballe in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar de Mendonça saved Botafogo AP from getting behind. Gilmar de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belasko Abecia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Botafogo AP's Guto Paraense got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 10th minute, Maicon Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Bazil Aballe came free, but Gilmar de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes in the game, Bazil Aballe fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gilmar de Mendonça having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Octavia's zone, Luiz Fabiano Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Goito Abenda came out of the goal and Luiz Fabiano Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Bazil Aballe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilmar de Mendonça was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edson Tavares during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bazil Aballe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
