Spectators: 7463 (Terracing: 5598, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Marius Lipan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Republica Ploiești booed when FC PIETROSUL -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ştefan Pivniceru didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marius Lipan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute FC PIETROSUL -MM- were awarded a corner. Ştefan Pivniceru went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Dorin Nediu heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marius Lipan in the 13th minute of play forced Republica Ploiești's goalkeeper Pompiliu Hâncu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Republica Ploiești's Pompiliu Hâncu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Răzvan Şerbănescu in the 23rd minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Cosmin Chiriță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ioan Brânza during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ioan Brânza hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Dan Godeanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Horia Găman made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dan Godeanu to strike the kick off in the second half. Horia Găman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristinel Bădoi in the 53rd minute of the match. A collision led to FC PIETROSUL -MM- getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ilie Zeciu hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Mihail Iureș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horia Găman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristinel Bădoi in the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Dorin Nediu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pompiliu Hâncu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marius Lipan in the 66th minute of play. Pompiliu Hâncu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Răzvan Şerbănescu went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 75th minute, Dan Godeanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Republica Ploiești fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Horia Găman came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Republica Ploiești's Dan Godeanu. But to his dismay, Dan Godeanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 85 played minutes Republica Ploiești got a freekick which was hit by Cosmin Chiriță. In the 93rd minute, Cristinel Bădoi made a precise shot to the right of Horia Găman. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Republica Ploiești's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
