The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eleuterio Domiku hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Ntinos Kousas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Efthimis Kazantzatos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Inocente in the 7th minute of play. Ntinos Kousas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Gabriel Vela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ntinos Kousas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Leonel Pagomari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATE AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Pagomari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Ntinos Kousas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Vela was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Eleuterio Domiku's late challenge caught a O.T.E's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Vela stood somewhat misplaced when Ntinos Kousas came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 33 minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ntinos Kousas got free with Gabriel Vela in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd match minute, O.T.E was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vassilis Symeonakis to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ntinos Kousas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gabriel Vela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Theocharis Troupkos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Vela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ntinos Kousas, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute.
