But to his dismay, Leonardo Boström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Leonardo Boström kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Lars-Erik Odeen might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heriberto Walton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lars-Erik Odeen ran back to his position shaking his head. Heriberto Walton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Boström in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, Sonstorps Fotboll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olof Arvidsson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when Sonstorps Fotboll was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Backlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Sandwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarrett Poirier, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Vancouver Reds's Heriberto Walton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Backlund in the 42nd minute of play. Olof Arvidsson scored 2-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Heriberto Walton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Geoffrey Roach hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Heriberto Walton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars-Erik Odeen in the 53rd minute of the match. Jarrett Poirier's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hugo Sandwall firmly grabbed it by the left post. Heriberto Walton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Boström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd match minute, Sonstorps Fotboll was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Backlund to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute of the match Thanh Dodd sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Sandwall skillfully saved the ball. Jarrett Poirier struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Hugo Sandwall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vancouver Reds. In the 89th match minute, Vancouver Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quincy Minor to maneuver through the defense. Lars-Erik Odeen might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heriberto Walton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lars-Erik Odeen ran back to his position shaking his head. 92 minutes into the game, Olof Arvidsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sonstorps Fotboll's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver Reds the free kick. A collision led to Sonstorps Fotboll getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Olof Arvidsson hit a great ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Lars-Erik Odeen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sonstorps Fotboll's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars-Erik Odeen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sonstorps Fotboll were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vancouver Reds for a fine match.
