The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo Carvalho during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute Evandro Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Benvide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Bernebe kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Flying Dutch's Egídio Goiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonzalo Benvide made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Gonzalo Benvide dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Abelardo Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonzalo Benvide having to interfere. If Egídio Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Pablo Bernebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Rolando Joey fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuervos AFC's protests and gave Rolando Joey a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Flying Dutch booed when Cuervos AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Joey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Egídio Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flying Dutch's supporters rose to their feet, but Egídio Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonzalo Benvide breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Bernebe was the one to do the kick off. Abelardo Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute Evandro Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Benvide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonzalo Benvide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Paraibano in the 60th minute of the match. Jonas de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Goyo in the 69th minute of the match. Gonzalo Benvide made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egídio Goiano in the 70th minute. When Marco Selatse fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuervos AFC's protests and gave Marco Selatse a yellow card for diving instead. Marco Selatse kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 74 played minutes Cuervos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Selatse. Evandro Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Gonzalo Benvide made a huge save. Gonzalo Benvide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Souza in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, one of Cuervos AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cuervos AFC. When the match had been going on for 80 minutes, Flying Dutch's Leandro Coutinho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gonzalo Benvide. Jonas de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Bernebe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 played minutes Cuervos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Meo. After a rather tough play, Cuervos AFC's Gaspar Lertxun got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute German Goyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Flying Dutch's zone, Pablo Bernebe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas de Queirós came out of the goal and Pablo Bernebe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
