The audience thought a goal was coming when Mati Adamski got free with Gugu Gaúcho in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Amílton Gomes sped through Maccabi Netanya's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Josh Ben-Ari. With an all-out effort, Maccabi Netanya's Gugu Gaúcho threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Simeon Zibak, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Barra Funda F.C's Gugu Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simeon Zibak in the 17th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adir Avitahl during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
