AC Mayonnaise's Valdemar Jönsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristide Nichita in the 6th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Baran to maneuver through the defense. Valdemar Jönsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Pop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the game, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Alex Pop nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdemar Jönsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Stig-Arne Ödman fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Mayonnaise's protests and gave Stig-Arne Ödman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Stig-Arne Ödman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aristide Nichita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Valdemar Jönsson made a huge save. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Costică Stoleru in the 31st minute. The corner led to -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Alex Pop getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 31stth minute Alex Pop got a great chance to score trying to place the ball in the top left corner, but Valdemar Jönsson was prepared and efficiently stopped the ball from getting in. A nice corner shot did that Costică Stoleru got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Valdemar Jönsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Aristide Nichita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Jönsson having to interfere. In the 37th minute Alex Pop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Jönsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristide Nichita came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Valdemar Jönsson could save by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aristide Nichita was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Aristide Nichita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Jönsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar Jönsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristide Nichita in the 58th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes -BZF- Valea Buzăului got a freekick which was hit by Alex Pop. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Pop couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in AC Mayonnaise's zone, Cristi Hagi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Jönsson came out of the goal and Cristi Hagi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to AC Mayonnaise getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Sune Sjöö hit a great ball. In the 95th match minute, AC Mayonnaise was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Örtlund to maneuver through the defense. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
