William Mellberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Fidele in the 3rd minute of the match. William Mellberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Fidele in the 4th minute of play. The supporters of Talleres booed when Saltsjöbaden IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sune Levander didn't get a good kick on the ball. William Mellberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Primitivo Fidele, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Dieguito Maradona had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of William Mellberg. Saltsjöbaden IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dieguito Maradona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some careless play in the Saltsjöbaden IF defense, Primitivo Fidele kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Mellberg. The Saltsjöbaden IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Mellberg should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the game, Talleres's Dieguito Maradona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. William Mellberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. William Mellberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Fidele in the 24th minute of the match. William Mellberg came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Talleres's Rodolfo Peru. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Peru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After 33 minutes of play, Talleres's Primitivo Fidele made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Mellberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rigoberto Olayo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stig-Åke Biörkquist in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute, Primitivo Fidele ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. William Mellberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. William Mellberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Fidele in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stig-Åke Biörkquist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Talleres's Atilano Galo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Edward Thidén charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edward Thidén the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Saltsjöbaden IF getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Edward Thidén hit a great ball. 59 minutes in the game, Primitivo Fidele fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without William Mellberg having to interfere. After 61 minutes of play Saltsjöbaden IF's Edward Thidén was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 62nd match minute, Saltsjöbaden IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Thidén to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Primitivo Fidele got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 66 minutes into the match, Saltsjöbaden IF's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Fidele came free, but William Mellberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rigoberto Olayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Biörkquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Fidele in the 73rd minute of play forced Saltsjöbaden IF's goalkeeper William Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Fidele received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. William Mellberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Primitivo Fidele slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 78th minute. William Mellberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Fidele in the 81st minute of the match. Primitivo Fidele might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Mellberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Primitivo Fidele ran back to his position shaking his head. After 89 minutes of play, Talleres's Primitivo Fidele made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Mellberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Saltsjöbaden IF's zone, Dieguito Maradona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Mellberg came out of the goal and Dieguito Maradona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Talleres's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
