The supporters of Villarreal FK booed when Abeluse Flow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis-Miguel Sevilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marián Vrabec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Casillas, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Jorge Cordoba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marián Vrabec. Villarreal FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Cordoba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Erik Tilingers short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Oscar Maldonado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Marián Vrabec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriz Canturri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lukáč Drdaj got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Villarreal FK's Lukáč Drdaj got a free kick in the 79th minute. A collision led to Villarreal FK getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Erik Tilinger hit a great ball.
