After 6 minutes, Ambrosio Jerardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Old Boys and the Yofré AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Yofré AFC booed when The Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ambrosio Jerardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 7 minutes, Delmiro Silbestre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yofré AFC and the The Old Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Yofré AFC got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Silbestre. 8 minutes into the match, Yofré AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Bartoli came free, but Antonio Quintin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dario Tipi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Larios having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmiro Silbestre in the 12th minute of play forced The Old Boys's goalkeeper Pablo Larios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 minutes of play, The Old Boys's Edgardo Bartoli made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonio Quintin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edgardo Bartoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Antonio Quintin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Isaio in the 24th minute of play forced Yofré AFC's goalkeeper Antonio Quintin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dario Tipi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pablo Larios came out and tried to block the shot, but Dario Tipi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, Justo Perpinya notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Yofré AFC's Antonio Quintin. Antonio Quintin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 42nd match minute, Yofré AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Silbestre to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Quintin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Bartoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Raimundo Isaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Isaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 58th minute, Raimundo Isaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antonio Quintin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Perpinya in the 60th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Justo Perpinya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Quintin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Justo Perpinya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antonio Quintin. Yofré AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Justo Perpinya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Antonio Quintin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauricio Corderun in the 79th minute. Antonio Quintin made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Edgardo Bartoli sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute, Edgardo Bartoli fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cláudio Suárez's late challenge caught a Yofré AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cláudio Suárez helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the Yofré AFC defense, Justo Perpinya kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antonio Quintin. The Yofré AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Quintin should have stopped the shot.
