In the 4th minute, Cazimir Traian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Raureni Academy's Petrică Tărău got control of the ball when Joris Tijs tried to sneak it across the goal line. Petrică Tărău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Raureni Academy's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ivo De Backer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Raureni Academy's Petrică Tărău played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf in the 14th minute of play. Petrică Tărău made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Joris Tijs sent off a good shot on target. Iustin Hănescu kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Petrică Tărău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo De Backer in the 17th minute of the match. Petrică Tărău took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo De Backer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute of the match, Steff Winnepenninck tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Petrică Tărău saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 24 minutes, Stelian Voineag mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Raureni Academy and the Genk players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stelian Voineag kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Raureni Academy's goalkeeper Petrică Tărău had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivo De Backer. With 26 minutes on the clock, Tommi Renso commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Tommi Renso hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Petrică Tărău showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After a rather tough play, Raureni Academy's Iustin Hănescu got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute, Steff Winnepenninck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petrică Tărău made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Joris Tijs sent off a good shot on target. Stelian Voineag hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Petrică Tărău having to make a save. If Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Raureni Academy's Codruț Giurcă got a free kick in the 44th minute. 48 minutes into the game, Călin Barbosu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jordi Peten was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steff Winnepenninck to strike the kick off in the second half. Petrică Tărău came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Genk's Joris Tijs. But to his dismay, Joris Tijs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Iustin Hănescu fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raureni Academy's protests and gave Iustin Hănescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Iustin Hănescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petrică Tărău read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Genk's Joris Tijs got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Raureni Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Steff Winnepenninck came free, but Petrică Tărău reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Joris Tijs made a precise shot to the right of Petrică Tărău. Raureni Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Petrică Tărău showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joris Tijs in the 69th minute of the match. Robby de Koninck's late challenge caught a Raureni Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jordi Peten acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 72nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ilie Plop. Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petrică Tărău having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Iustin Hănescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Joris Tijs ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Petrică Tărău was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. After a rather tough play, Raureni Academy's Stelian Voineag got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The audience was convinced that Pierre-Alexandre Dewolf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petrică Tărău was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Petrică Tărău came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Genk's Joris Tijs. But to his dismay, Joris Tijs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. When Cazimir Traian fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raureni Academy's protests and gave Cazimir Traian a yellow card for diving instead. Cazimir Traian kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Joris Tijs made a precise shot to the right of Petrică Tărău. Raureni Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Genk walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
