Ermegildo Joey took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Luiz de Mendonça. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Vágner Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ernesto Seme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Teodoro Estebano charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Elder Aguiar hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Fernendo in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Luiz de Mendonça saved Júbilo Iwata from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Joey in the 66th minute of play forced Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Paulo Terra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Ernesto Seme made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ermegildo Joey in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Luiz de Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Seme was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cléber Vale showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 76 minute of play. Vágner Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ernesto Seme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Islas FC's Ermegildo Joey in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
