FC Karamba's Stanislovas Milčius got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 15 minutes, Fausto Iachini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Benevento and the FC Karamba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fausto Iachini hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Atletico Benevento's Augusto Avesani got control of the ball when Stanislovas Milčius tried to sneak it across the goal line. Atletico Benevento's Augusto Avesani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Benevento from getting a goal against them.
