The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Di Giovanni in the 3rd minute of play forced River de Ramos Mejía's goalkeeper Ildefonso Madeo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ildefonso Madeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Di Giovanni, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Ildefonso Madeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Cordeal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Domingos Laurgain got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ildefonso Madeo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 12 minutes into the game, Leo Ortle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River de Ramos Mejía's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club de la Serpiente the free kick. After a rather tough play, River de Ramos Mejía's Leo Ortle got a free kick in the 12th minute. Emilio Leheren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ildefonso Madeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristo Cordeal in the 22nd minute of play forced River de Ramos Mejía's goalkeeper Ildefonso Madeo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cristo Cordeal came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Club de la Serpiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Cordeal couldn't finish the play. Nicanor Salvadore kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Club de la Serpiente's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jaime Pinto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ildefonso Madeo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Di Giovanni's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Leheren in the 44th minute of play forced River de Ramos Mejía's goalkeeper Ildefonso Madeo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ildefonso Madeo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Leheren went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severino Di Giovanni was the one to do the kick off. When Bartolo Maju fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River de Ramos Mejía's protests and gave Bartolo Maju a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to River de Ramos Mejía getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Bartolo Maju hit a great ball. Domingos Laurgain took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ildefonso Madeo. Ildefonso Madeo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 63rd match minute, Club de la Serpiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Franco to maneuver through the defense. Bartolo Maju got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 82 minutes into the match, Severino Di Giovanni notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of River de Ramos Mejía's Ildefonso Madeo. Ildefonso Madeo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ildefonso Madeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Cordeal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River de Ramos Mejía's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Emilio Leheren scored to the left of an out of position Ildefonso Madeo, making the score, 0-6. After 91 played minutes Cristo Cordeal rounded River de Ramos Mejía's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-7. When the match was over Club de la Serpiente could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than River de Ramos Mejía throughout the match.
