The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A very good chance. Al-Slottshöjden's Jens-Ola Vollander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Marin in the 18th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Diego Nesor rounded Al-Slottshöjden's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Silvio Dei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bror Stålman went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Silvio Dei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Bergstedt in the 30th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Gimnasia y tiro defense, Martin Bergstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvio Dei. The Gimnasia y tiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvio Dei should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute of the match, Carolo Baladi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jens-Ola Vollander was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gimnasia y tiro's Ovidio Cutberto got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute, Diego Nesor fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Segundo Marin to make the kick off. The supporters of Al-Slottshöjden booed when Gimnasia y tiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Mingo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingvar Berg kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Al-Slottshöjden's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Cutberto came free, but Jens-Ola Vollander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gimnasia y tiro had won after a very even match.
