After having played for 16 minutes, Gilesindo Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River LOA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilesindo Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 24 minutes into the game, Reynaldo de Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jardim América FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River LOA the free kick. After 24 played minutes Jardim América FC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo de Castro. When Jardim América FC's Reynaldo de Castro in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River LOA's goalie prevented a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilesindo Schmidt to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, River LOA's Gilesindo Schmidt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Perivaldo Torres. Perivaldo Torres yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Mazza in the 58th minute of play forced River LOA's goalkeeper Ramon María Waddington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilesindo Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Perivaldo Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Mazza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. River LOA's attentive Jose Ramon Franco managed to snatch the ball when Tomás Mazza made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ruesga Melo during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes River LOA got a freekick which was hit by Ruesga Melo. Ramon María Waddington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo de Castro in the 87th minute of the match. Jardim América FC's Nuno Neves quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ever Riquelme, made in the 94th minute of the game. River LOA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
