The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato booed when El Millo de Haedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Beti didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Generoso Raulo made the kick off in the second half. Perlaza Corcoba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Corderun having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector-Luis Cadrecha in the 58th minute of play forced El Millo de Haedo's goalkeeper Maximiliano Corderun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
