Gone With the Win
Spectators: 7581 (Terracing: 5686,
Seating: 1744, VIP seats: 151) Vic Bayne made the kick off and thus started the match. Bivadi McJohnny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vic Bayne in the 4th minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Uí Fergusa's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Foley came free, but Bivadi McJohnny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joseph Allwright sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute, Samuel Foley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ian Browne didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradaigh Silke went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vic Bayne in the 14th minute of play forced Uí Fergusa's goalkeeper Bivadi McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Uí Fergusa's Bradaigh Silke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ian Browne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The corner led Gone With the Win's Stew Lonsdale to fire away a dangerous shot which Bivadi McJohnny despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gone With the Win's Ian Browne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradaigh Silke in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Uí Fergusa's Dugan Doherty got a free kick in the 30th minute. Joseph Allwright in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bivadi McJohnny, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bannon Gollogley kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Dugan Doherty got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ash Cook hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Joseph Allwright took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bivadi McJohnny. Bivadi McJohnny dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After the first half Uí Fergusa were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bradaigh Silke made a kick off. Ian Browne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradaigh Silke, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After 54 played minutes, Gone With the Win's Hugh Wilkinson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bivadi McJohnny came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gone With the Win reached it. After a rather tough play, Uí Fergusa's Dugan Doherty got a free kick in the 55th minute. Bivadi McJohnny showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Allwright, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Gone With the Win's Joseph Allwright nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bivadi McJohnny made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 67th match minute, Gone With the Win was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Foley to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Gone With the Win's Ian Browne got control of the ball when Bradaigh Silke tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Bradaigh Silke left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uí Fergusa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. When Breenan Beckett fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uí Fergusa's protests and gave Breenan Beckett a yellow card for diving instead. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Uí Fergusa! Bivadi McJohnny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Foley in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vic Bayne in the 83rd minute of play forced Uí Fergusa's goalkeeper Bivadi McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 86 minutes of play, Gone With the Win's Vic Bayne made it 4-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bivadi McJohnny was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bivadi McJohnny took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ash Cook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gone With the Win were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uí Fergusa for a fine match.
